Bumper Stickers? By Austin Hoopes Recently I have seen two cars that have really intrigued me. The first was a chevy that was probably built in the early 90's. This car probably had 15 - 20 bumper stickers on it. The second car I saw this morning had 3 bumper stickers on it. The second car's stickers were the same sticker. It said "I'm proud of my Eagle Scout". The first car that had way too many stickers on it was impossible to get an idea of the objective of the car owner. He just had way too much random content on the back of his car. While waiting at the light looking at his car I found myself creeping forward to really focus on just one bumper sticker. I can't remember anything I read off his car. So... this leads me to ask a couple questions. Why bumper stickers? Why do people choose to advertise something on the back of their car? I guess the one family is just really proud of their Eagle Scouts. They want the whole world to know. They are practicing their free speech and pride in their children. Is it really necessary? Do we really care? How about the first car? What is that guy trying to get across. All I picked up was his personality. I feel like he's just some guy that is all over the place on a million issues. He has a shallow opinion about everything and he probable thinks the government is listening to every word he says. I’m sure I would walk away from a conversation with that guy and not remember a thing. I guess I'm just a little confused by the whole thing. I just have to question why? I have never been tempted to put anything on the back of my car. Have you? What do you think about bumper stickers?
